The fire department museum should not be missed by any fan of fire department history. A remarkable collection has been created in the district of Schröttinghausen.

Well over 1,000 fire department exhibits from four centuries are on display in the former village school. As the first of its kind in East Westphalia, the museum has been in existence for more than 25 years. The old school clock from 1862 is still in working order and, with its ridge turret and ogival windows, is a real eye-catcher on the building.

The museum is independently run by an association.
